Description: Traditional Hopi hand carved Hano Clown Kachina by Andrew Sahmie. He is holding a knife and a watermelon! ! It also has rain cloud patterns painted around the base! This is a really nice piece! Andrew learned the art of carving from his older brothers Finkle and Randall Sahmie. He started carving back in the 1980's. He carves his katsinam from the root of a cottonwood tree. He uses acrylic paints for his colors. He has won 1st and 2nd place awards at the Gallup Inter-tribal Ceremonial.
