Acoma Pueblo Native American Indian Pottery Water Jar #3 - Flo & Lee Vallo
Artist: Flo & Lee Vallo (Acoma Pueblo)
Dimensions: 6 1/2" tall X 15 1/2" Wide
Description: Hand coiled 3 lobe canteen "Water Jar" by Flo & Lee Vallo! A really unusual piece that is nicely made! The shape of this water jar is spectacular and replicates a shape that Lee's great aunt Juana Leno used to make. It has a modified Tularosa design with angles instead of circles! It also has angled lines that represent a Trail and dots on the handles that represents rain drops. The "triple" canteens were also called 'Journey Jars" because they were used for long trips or hikes. Their signature is a depiction of the Church of Acoma San Estevan Mission! Very cool!
