Hopi American Indian Pottery Bird Globe - Emerson Ami
Artist: Emerson Ami (Hopi Tribe)
Dimensions: 5 1/4" tall X 4 3/4" Wide
Description: Traditional Hopi hand coiled Bird Globe (for lack of a better term!) fired outdoors by Emerson Ami. A very nice piece! It has 4 bird designs painted on both sides. This piece is actually designed to sit with the opening at the bottom! How unusual! He uses all natural materials for his paints. Emerson learned from his grandma Eleanor Ami and was inspired by Mark tahbo. His is the husband of Dorothy Ami and the cousin of Valerie Namoki. His other grandmother is Carol Namoki and his brother is Loren Ami. Emerson is always working to learn new techniques and honing his skills! No cracks, chips or restorations.
