Description: Traditional Hopi hand coiled Hopi Maiden with Tablita by Darlene James Nampeyo. It has cloud designs and traditional patterns painted around the perimeter with feathers and water wave designs on the back of the Tablita! Darlene is the daughter of Dalton & Ruth James. She was taught by her grandmother, Rachel Namingha and her Aunts Dextra Quotskuyva & Priscilla Namingha. She is the great-great granddaughter of Nampeyo of Hano. She is the cousin of Les Namingha, Steve Lucas & Dan Namingha. She signs "Darlene Nampeyo" etched in the pot with a Corn motif below to represent her Corn Clan. Darlene uses all natural vegetal & mineral paints ans fires her pottery outdoors.
