Description: Traditional Hopi hand coiled Water Jar by Jean Sahme. It has an Eagle Tail design on each side and 4 dragonflies! It has a burn mark on one side from the outdoor firing which really gives it some character! Jean uses all natural pigments for her paints, hand coils her pottery and fires outdoors! Jean is the daughter of Priscilla Namingha Nampeyo and the sister of Nyla Sahmie, Rachel Sahmie, Finkle Sahmie, Foster Sahmie, Andrew Sahmie & Bonnie Chapella. It is signed on the bottom in her native name Sak'Honsee (Tobacco Flower Girl). Jean is no longer making pottery.
