Taos Pueblo Native American Indian Pottery Pueblo Dwelling - Bernice Naranjo (Various)
Artist: Bernice Naranjo - ( Taos Pueblo )
Dimensions: 4 3/4" Tall x 9" Wide
Description: Traditional hand coiled "Pueblo Dwelling" pottery from Taos Pueblo by award winning artist Bernice Naranjo. This piece is really cool! There is a 2 story dwelling typical of the Taos Pueblo with a Horno oven on one side. It has little wood vigas and even a chili ristra hanging on the wall! Wow! Bernice uses all natural pigments for her paints and gathers her clay twice a year from Pueblo land. She specializes in traditional and contemporary pottery. She is a self taught artist. She is the mother of Dusty Naranjo who is also a noted potter and her grandson is Jonathan Naranjo who is also an award winning potter! We purchased this piece from an estate sale, but Bernice confirmed it was made by her sometime back in the 1980's.
