Artist: Shana Garcia (Acoma Pueblo)
Dimensions: 5 3/4" tall X 6 1/4" Wide
Description: Hand coiled jar with traditional rain, lightning & tularosa swirl designs painted around it by Shana Garcia & her son Patrick Rustin Jr!! Shana & Patrick Jr. use all traditional methods to make their pottery and paint with a yucca brush using natural pigments. The band around the top represents birds flying over the Kiva steps. The walls are extremely thin and the pot is very light. Shana used to collaborate with her former husband Patrick Rustin Sr. This is one of her first pieces where she is collaborating with her son. If Patrick Jr's painting and pottery skills are this good at 20 years of age, then he has a bright future ahead of him! I see a lot of ribbons in his future! A very nice piece!
Purchased directly from Shana & Patrick Jr.!
