Artist: Shana Garcia (Acoma Pueblo)
Dimensions: 4 3/4" tall X 4 3/4" Wide
Description: Hand coiled jar with traditional designs painted around the rim. The jar itself has what Shana calls her "Yucca" design! Shana uses all traditional methods to make their pottery and paint with a yucca brush using natural pigments. The band around the top represents birds flying over the Kiva steps. The walls are extremely thin and the pot is very light. Shana used to collaborate with her former husband Patrick Rustin Sr who used to do the coiling while Shana did the painting. Shana has worked long and hard for the last 10 years mastering the art of coiling her own pottery and is just now beginning to offer her pieces again!
