Description: Traditional Hopi hand carved Katsina "Saviki" by Alex Youvella Sr. Known by different names on each of the 3 Mesas.. The detail is amazing! He has a Bull Snake in his mouth and is holding a staff in his right hand and a white badge which signifies priesthood and and bag of cornmeal in his left hand. Alex carves his katsinam from the root of a cottonwood tree. He uses acrylic paints for his colors. He is the son of Tino Youvella and is from First Mesa.
