Description: Traditional hand coiled "Large Parrot Jar" pottery from Taos Pueblo by award winning artist Bernice Naranjo. This piece is absolutely spectacular! It has a combination of matte and stone polished finishes. There are 2 Parrots sitting on branches etched into the surface. There are mountain design in some areas and some areas have the natural clay exposed! Wow! Bernice uses all natural pigments for her paints and gathers her clay twice a year from Pueblo land. She specializes in traditional and contemporary pottery. She is a self taught artist. She is the mother of Dusty Naranjo who is also a noted potter and her grandson is Jonathan Naranjo who is also an award winning potter! Signed with her hallmark. This is the same piece she is holding in the last photo.
