Description: Traditional Hopi hand carved Buffalo Dancers Kachina by Andrew Sahmie Sr. They are holding a rattle and a Bow! The both have necklaces made of real shells. Look at the detail on their hands! They are among the most powerful Katsinam, who protects and can rid the bad of evil thoughts! This is a really nice pair! Andrew learned the art of carving from his older brothers Finkle and Randall Sahmie. He started carving back in the 1980's. He carves his katsinam from the root of a cottonwood tree. He uses acrylic paints for his colors. He has won 1st and 2nd place awards at the Gallup Inter-tribal Ceremonial. Both Buffalo Dancers are included!
