Artist: Marcellus & Elizabeth Medina - Zia Pueblo
Dimensions: 12" tall X 11" Wide
Description: LARGE Hand coiled storage Jar with Butterflies and Birds alternating around the perimeter. It has a total of 25 Butterflies, 10 Hummingbirds & 10 Birds including 2 swallowtails which are important to the Zia people when praying for rain. Marcellus told me this is the first pot they have ever done with this combination of Butterflies, Hummingbirds and Birds. The painting and designs on this are exquisite! Natural paints and fired outdoors! Elizabeth & Marcellus are some of the few potters still active from Zia Pueblo. Their work is highly collectible. This is the same piece they are holding in the last photo!
